Cybersecurity in the Caribbean: attack, scam, hacked account — take back control.

You run a business in the Caribbean and you fear a cyberattack — or you are going through one right now. Based in Guadeloupe, I help you understand what is happening, contain the damage and make the right decisions, in the right order.

Your situation

Two starting points, one requirement: decide fast, and decide well.

Emergency

You are a victim

  • Encrypted files, ransom demand
  • Fake wire transfer, fake bank details, CEO fraud
  • Hacked WhatsApp, Facebook, Google or Microsoft account
  • Business software (SaaS) locked or hijacked
  • Your customers receive fraudulent messages in your name

Prevention

You want to get ahead

  • You no longer really know who has access to what
  • Your backups have never been tested
  • Your staff click without always checking
  • You rely on vendors and software you don't control
  • You are unsure about cyber insurance or a provider

First steps

Under attack? Six reflexes before anything else.

  1. 01

    Pay nothing, don't negotiate alone

No ransom, no “unlock fees”. Paying guarantees nothing and marks you as a target.

  2. 02

    Isolate, don't shut down

Disconnect affected machines from the network (cable, Wi-Fi) but leave them on: they hold useful traces.

  3. 03

    Keep the evidence

Screenshots, messages, emails, numbers, amounts, times. Delete nothing.

  4. 04

Change access from a clean device

Email, bank, admin accounts — and turn on two-factor authentication.

  5. 05

    Call your bank immediately

After a fraudulent transfer, the faster the recall request, the better the chances of getting funds back.

  6. 06

Report it and file a complaint

With the relevant authorities in your country (in France: 17cyber.gouv.fr and cybermalveillance.gouv.fr). I help you build the file.

These reflexes do not replace a diagnosis: every situation is different. When in doubt, call before acting.

Vacation rentals · SaaS

Attack on a real-estate agency's management software

Situation

A vacation-rental agency loses control of its online management software: hijacked access, with a direct risk to bookings, guest data and payments.

What we did

  • Immediate account lockdown and revocation of suspicious access
  • Coordination with the software vendor
  • Review of bookings, bank details and messages sent to guests
  • Two-factor authentication and role-based access rights

Takeaway

Online software is not secure “by default”: your accounts and access rights make the difference.

WhatsApp Business · Malicious link

Business WhatsApp taken over through a corrupted link

Situation

A business owner clicks a link received by message. Their business WhatsApp is hijacked and used to solicit customers and contacts.

What we did

  • Account recovery and logout of unknown devices
  • Two-step verification turned on
  • Warning message drafted for customers and contacts
  • Check of other exposed accounts (email, social media)

Takeaway

One click is enough. Two-step verification and a habit of doubt prevent most cases.

Method

Clarity first. You stay in charge.

FAQ

What business leaders ask me first.

Should I pay the ransom?

As a rule, no. Paying guarantees neither getting your data back nor being left alone. The decision rests on concrete facts — state of backups, data affected, legal obligations — which is exactly what we establish together.

My WhatsApp was hacked. What do I do right now?

Reinstall WhatsApp and log in with your number to receive a new code, turn on two-step verification, then warn your contacts through another channel. If you can't recover the account, call me.

Do you work remotely?

Yes. Most engagements start remotely, right away. I come on site in Guadeloupe when it helps.

Will my situation stay confidential?

Yes. What you tell me stays between us. Cases shown on this site are anonymised.

How much does it cost?

The first conversation lets us assess the situation. You then receive a clear proposal before any commitment.

I'm not in Guadeloupe. Can you help?

Yes: French Caribbean, English- and Spanish-speaking Caribbean, North America or Europe — remotely, in your language.

A doubt, an attack, a scam? Let's talk now.

Fast response by phone or WhatsApp. If your WhatsApp is compromised, call or email instead.
